Professional Angkor Wat Photography

Angkor Wat is an extraordinary setting for photography. Connect Cambodia works with experienced Siem Reap photographers who know the temples, the changing light and the best locations for creating beautiful photographs while you explore Angkor.

Our private photoshoots can be arranged as a dedicated photography session or planned around your wider visit to the temples. Choose a short session at Angkor Wat or spend longer photographing across several locations in Angkor Archaeological Park.

Private Photoshoots at Angkor Wat

Whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or with family, a private photoshoot gives you professional photographs of your time at Angkor without having to rely on phone photos, selfies or asking other visitors.

Your photographer will guide you through the session, helping with locations, backgrounds and natural posing while making the most of the changing light around the temples. Sessions can focus entirely on Angkor Wat, or longer photoshoots can include other temples and locations around Angkor Archaeological Park.

If you’re already planning a day exploring Angkor, your photoshoot can be incorporated into your wider temple itinerary, allowing you to combine professional photography with your visit rather than arranging a completely separate trip.

Angkor Wat Photoshoot Packages

Choose from a 1-hour photoshoot at Angkor Wat or a longer session with time to visit and photograph at several temples. All packages are private and include an experienced local photographer, professional guidance throughout your session and individually edited high-resolution photographs.

For longer sessions, we’ll help plan the photography around your Angkor itinerary, taking into account the temples you’d like to visit, the best times for photography and the pace of your day.

Early morning generally offers the best conditions for photography at Angkor Wat, with cooler temperatures and attractive morning light. Sunrise is an option if you’d like the classic Angkor Wat sunrise atmosphere, while starting a little later can work well if portraits around the temple are your main priority.

For more detailed advice on sunrise timing and locations, see our Angkor Wat Guide.

Wear something you feel comfortable and confident being photographed in, but remember that Angkor Wat is an active religious site and a dress code applies. Clothing should cover your shoulders and knees when entering temple areas where the dress code is enforced.

Comfortable footwear is also recommended, particularly for longer photoshoots involving several temples.

Bayon is one of Angkor’s most remarkable temples, famous for its enormous stone faces and maze of carved galleries. We recommend visiting early, when the temple is quieter and the soft morning light brings the faces to life.
Explore Preah Khan, one of Angkor’s largest temples, known for its atmospheric corridors, ancient carvings and impressive tree roots. Our guide covers what to see and how to plan your visit.
Bakong is one of the oldest temple mountains in the Angkor region. Discover its impressive stepped pyramid, stone elephants and what to know before visiting this historic temple near Siem Reap.
Ta Prohm is famous for its enormous trees growing through the ruins, but there is much more to explore beyond the best-known viewpoints. We recommend visiting early, when its corridors and courtyards are quieter and the temple is at its most atmospheric.
Visit Angkor Thom South Gate, the monumental entrance to the ancient city. Learn what to look for, when to visit, how to avoid the busiest times, and where to find the best views and photographs.
One of our favourite smaller temples at Angkor, Preah Palilay is especially atmospheric during the green season. It’s close to the Terrace of the Elephants, yet usually sees only a handful of visitors, making it an easy addition when exploring Angkor Thom.
